As the Washington Huskies continue to look for impact pieces in the secondary to add to their 2027 class, Jedd Fisch and secondary coach John Richardson may have to look elsewhere than four-star cornerback Kamil Loud.
On Friday morning, Rivals’ Greg Biggins logged a crystal ball for coach Tosh Lupoi and the California Golden Bears to reel in the services of the rising prospect out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 212 overall recruit and No. 26 cornerback by 247Sports.
He recently cut down his list of 22 offers to a final six of Auburn, California, Florida State, Miami, and Utah, and is also slated to take an official visit to see coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles on June 19. However, if Biggins’ prediction comes true, he may not wind up making the trip to Tallahassee.
“Loud visited Washington last weekend and had a great trip,” Biggins wrote. “This one is actually very close, but we do think Cal has some natural advantages here. The Bears are his childhood dream school, and he said he grew up in the Bay Area, going to Cal games when he was little.”
“He loves the current Cal coaching staff, and we know they plan to put the full-court press on him. If Washington was going to land him, we thought it would have to happen on the trip last week. Cal has been very good this cycle, locking up their key visitors while they’re on campus, and we think the Bears can do it again this weekend.”
Washington currently holds commitments from four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams in the 2027 class, and is in the hunt for several more. Over the June 5 weekend, Richardson and safeties coach Taylor Mays hosted four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord, four-star safety Jaden Walk-Green, and three-star cornerback Evan Mack on official visits.
