Mississippi State football added depth at quarterback with a notable addition.

Jaden Rashada is transferring to MSU. The Bulldogs announced the news on Jan. 22 in a social media post.

Rashada, who is from Pittsburg, California, played at Arizona State, Georgia and Sacramento State.

He started the first two games at Sacramento State in 2025 before injuring his thumb. It limited his participation in the rest of the season. He finished the season with 264 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Rashada will be a redshirt junior and is expected to compete for the No. 2 job with Appalachian State transfer AJ Swann. Kamario Taylor is the projected starter.

Headlines have followed Rashada in his college career. He was a four-star prospect in the 2023 class who initially committed to Florida. Rashada sued former Florida coach Billy Napier over an NIL deal that fell through. He never played for the Gators.

Rashada flipped to Arizona State and was 44-of-82 for 485 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. He transferred to Georgia for the 2024 season but did not play.

Other quarterbacks who will be on the 2026 MSU roster are three-star signee Brodie McWhorter and Parker Puckett, a former walk-on.
