The Colorado Buffaloes added plenty of talent during the January transfer portal window, but on Wednesday, it was reported that one of those players will not be joining the Buffs.

New Mexico State transfer defensive lineman Ezra Christensen, who committed to Colorado on Jan. 9, won't be joining the program, as he has already played five years and would need a waiver, which he is unlikely to receive. The Daily Camera's Brian Howell was the first to report the Christensen waiver situation.

Losing him is a tough blow to Colorado's defensive line, as his experience likely made him a top candidate to start early for the Buffs.

It is unclear whether Christensen or Colorado will seek the waiver in court, but as Howell notes, it might be a losing battle.

Christensen racked up 42 tackles, six sacks and forced a fumble last season with the Aggies. He was supposed to join fellow New Mexico State transfer safety Naeten Mitchell and linebacker Tyler Martinez.
