Missouri State football's 2026 recruiting class ranks higher nationally

Signing day is over, and Missouri State football picked up 36 new recruits — 16 freshmen and 20 transfers. The Bears were looking to improve on last season’s 143rd-ranked recruiting class, and with the high-level of freshmen and the quantity of transfers brought in, they’ve achieved that goal.

The Bears improved 15 spots from 2025, with Missouri State’s incoming class ranked 128th in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. This was good enough to rank eighth in Conference USA, ahead of Middle Tennessee State, Sam Houston State, and New Mexico State. UTEP was excluded from C-USA rankings for both recruiting and transfers due to the program’s move to the Mountain West.

The Bears finished this transfer portal cycle ranked 113th in the nation, again according to the 247Sports Composite. This ranked ninth in Conference USA, ahead of fellow newcomer Delaware and Louisiana Tech.
