Notre Dame to host 5-star prospect during Blue & Gold game

It’s always a recruiting win to bring in a prospect during the spring, but Notre Dame football hit a home run with one of the top 2027 prospects on Tuesday.

California safety Honor Fa’alave Johnson, who head coach Marcus Freeman personally visited late last month, announced his spring schedule, and at the end of his list is a visit to South Bend for the weekend of the annual Blue & Gold game. It’s the most realistic game day atmosphere you can get in the spring and have the nation’s No. 16 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite in attendance will go a long way.

It’s not the only visit the 5-star prospect will make in the spring, as his schedule is loaded with a who’s who of college football’s elite programs. The hope is that with the trip to Notre Dame at the end of Fa’alave-Johnson’s list, it will leave a lasting impression and the Irish can seal the deal and get him to commit to their 2027 class.
