Son of Chris McIntosh becomes Badgers first commit in Class of 2027

The Wisconsin Badgers secured a commitment from 2027 three-star offensive lineman Ethan McIntosh, he announced on Wednesday.

McIntosh, a native of Verona, Wisconsin, is the son of Badgers Athletic Director Chris McIntosh, and the first commitment for the program in the Class of 2027.

McIntosh, who stands 6’7, 250 pounds according to 247Sports, is considered the No. 5-rated prospect in Wisconsin for the 2027 class on the 247Sports Composite. It’s a loaded in-state group, and the Badgers are getting in the mix early.

Wisconsin had offered McIntosh following a camp this summer, marking his seventh scholarship offer. He’s picked up ones from Illinois, Colorado State, and Nebraska since, but the hometown Badgers were always the team to beat in his recruitment.

McIntosh’s size and athleticism are especially appealing, and he has the frame to put on more mass as he continues to grow and get older.

It will be important for Wisconsin to recruit well in the state for the Class of 2027, which has several nationally-recognized recruits. McIntosh’s commitment on Wednesday is a good step forward for the Badgers, giving Wisconsin a legacy offensive lineman to kick off the cycle.
