Florida State needs a quarterback in the 2027 cycle. With that being said, they have prioritized a certain prospect, and that's blue-chip signal-caller Wonderful Monds IV.
There's is another contender that's also pushing for Monds, and that's Ohio State. However, Tom Loy of 247Sports feels that FSU is trending for the Vero Beach High School star.
Everyone is keeping an eye on Ohio State and Florida State. The Buckeyes would be more than willing to add him as a second quarterback in the class, joining four-star signal-caller Brady Edmunds. However, Monds is priority No. 1 for the Seminoles. Mike Norvell, and those in Tallahassee, Florida, would love nothing more than to make him the face of the 2027 class headed to Florida State.
Monds attended a 7-on-7 camp in June of 2024, which was his first time in Tallahassee. When he left, he had an offer from Florida State. So, the Seminoles have had Monds on their radar for almost two years.
Ohio State didn’t offer Monds until January, and they hosted him on his first visit over the weekend. Meanwhile, Florida State had Monds on campus for a Junior Day event in January, and again for an unofficial visit in March.
Monds is the No. 210 player nationally and the No. 19 quarterback per the 247Sports composite rankings. He's also the No. 23 prospect in the state of Florida.
It will be vital for FSU to continue recruiting Monds as hard as they are with Ohio State on their heels.
