2027 South Carolina running back names Vols in top schools

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.

Four-star running back Tre Segarra named Tennessee in his top five schools, along with Indiana, South Carolina, Penn State and Stanford, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound prospect is from Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 5 running back in the class and No. 2 player in South Carolina.

Tennessee offered Segarra a scholarship on May 2, 2024. He has visited Tennessee eight times and will officially visit the Vols June 12.

UCF was the first school to offer Segarra a scholarship on Sept. 10, 2023. Other Power Four schools to offer him scholarships include Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Georgia, Duke, Texas A&M, Maryland, Syracuse, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas and Alabama.

Tennessee has six commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and wide receiver KeSean Bowman.
