District 3 Class 5A football: Bishop McDevitt shuts out Exeter 42-0

Nazir Jones-Davis ran for two touchdowns and Howard Holton Jr. caught two touchdown passes as Bishop McDevitt defeated Exeter 42-0 in the District 3 Class 5A football semifinals on Friday night at McDevitt in Harrisburg.

Jones-Davis scored on runs of 53 and 3 yards, and Holton Jr. caught TD passes of 20 and 30 yards from quarterback Sebastian Williams.

McDevitt will play Solanco at 7 p.m. Friday at a site to be determined for the district title. Solanco advanced with a 43-12 win over New Oxford.

Exeter star running back Leo Brown gained just 49 yards on 17 carries, as the Eagles (10-3) had just 61 total yards in the game. McDevitt had 333 total yards.

Brown finished the season with 2,444 yards rushing on 281 carries with 28 rushing touchdowns.

McDevitt defeated Exeter 48-14 in last year’s district championship game.
