Florida running back Jadan Baugh has cracked The Sporting News' Heisman Watch after dominating against Ole Miss.

Baugh took advantage of the big stage against Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and ran for 142 yards and three touchdowns in the Gators' 52-28 win on Saturday.

Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith made the biggest impression last week with 12 catches for 217 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-19 win over Illinois on Saturday.

Heisman Trophy voters Cliff Brunt and Jeff Hauser cover college football for The Sporting News. Hauser has voted since 2015 and Brunt since 2017. They have compiled an alphabetical watch list of players they would consider strongly for their top three if ballots were due today. The highlighted players are in the top five for one or both.

Bear Bachmeier, QB, BYU

Season stats: Three games, 71% completions, 642 yards, six TDs; 12 carries, 64 yards, two TDs.

Last game: Completed 12 of 16 passes for 227 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Led the Cougars to a 41-23 win over Colorado State on Sept. 19.

Next game: BYU visits TCU on Saturday.

Season stats: Four games, 83 carries, 600 yards, nation-leading 11 TDs; has rushed for three TDs in three games already.

Last game: Ran 29 times for 142 yards and three scores in the blowout win over Ole Miss.

Next game: Florida visits Missouri on Oct. 3.

Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

Season stats: Four games, 70.8% completions, 1,222 yards, eight TDs; 28 carries, 108 yards, four TDs.

Last game: Chambliss followed the emotional win over LSU with another good performance, despite the loss to Florida. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 298 yards with a touchdown and an interception and ran seven times for 44 yards.

Next game: Ole Miss has a bye before visiting Vanderbilt on Oct. 10.

Josh Hoover, QB, Indiana

Season stats: Four games, 70% completions, 850 yards, 80 passes without an interception. Passer rating of 204.4, 11 TD passes.

Last game: Completed 19 of 29 passes for 201 yards and a score in a 29-23 win over Northwestern on Friday.

Next game: Indiana visits Rutgers on Saturday.

Arch Manning, QB, Texas

Season stats: Four games, 63.5% completions, 862 yards, seven TDs; 32 carries, 82 yards.

Last game: Completed 14 of 19 passes for 201 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in a tight win against Tennessee on Saturday.

Next game: Texas has a bye before playing Oklahoma in Dallas on Oct. 10.

Darian Mensah, QB, Miami

Season stats: Four games, 88.7% completions, 1,211 yards, 14 TDs without an interception. Passer rating of 228.0.

Last game: Completed 23 of 27 passes against Central Michigan and somehow, his completion percentage dropped. He passed for 338 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score in a 52-3 win on Saturday.

Next game: Miami visits Clemson on Saturday night.
