Colorado's 2027 recruiting ranking improving after recent commitments

Colorado football’s recruiting surge is starting to change the conversation in the Big 12. After sitting at just three verbal commitments before May 16, the Buffs now have eight new additions in the class and have climbed sharply in the national rankings.
That momentum has not gone unnoticed around the league. One anonymous Big 12 coach said he was impressed with Deion Sanders’ staff, pointing to offensive coordinator Brennan Marion, defensive coordinator Chris Marve and the skill talent already in Boulder. The coach also said the key question is whether Colorado can protect the passer and how good Julian Lewis can be as he develops.
Colorado football updated class of 2027 recruiting ranking
- On3: No. 40 overall, No. 3 Big 12
- 247Sports: No. 41 overall, No. 6 Big 12
That is a notable endorsement at a time when CU is making its biggest recruiting push of the cycle. On3/Rivals now has the Buffs at No. 40 nationally, while 247Sports has them up to No. 41. Those numbers are a clear jump from where Colorado sat earlier this spring.
The Buffs may not be done yet. Four-star wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray is set to announce his college decision on Memorial Day, and Colorado is believed to be gaining real traction. If he chooses Boulder, it would give Marion another receiver to mold and push the Buffs’ 2027 class even higher.
For a program that has spent most of the Deion Sanders era under a microscope, this is the recruiting run that gets the rest of the conference talking.
