The pipeline is starting to look very real in Lincoln, and offensive line coach Geep Wade is right in the middle of it.
Four-star offensive tackle Timi Aliu from Locust Grove, Georgia announced his commitment to Nebraska today, giving the Huskers yet another major recruiting win in the trenches. At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Aliu already possesses the kind of size that Power Four programs covet, and his recruitment reflected that reality.
Programs like Georgia Bulldogs football, Florida Gators football and Clemson Tigers football were all heavily involved, making this commitment another statement win for Nebraska and Wade on the recruiting trail.
More importantly, Aliu becomes the third offensive lineman from Georgia to join Nebraska’s 2027 class, alongside Jordan Agbanoma and KD Jones. That is not a coincidence. That is strategy.
Geep Wade’s Georgia connections are paying off
When Nebraska hired Geep Wade, the expectation was that he would bring strong recruiting ties in the South. So far, he has delivered in a major way.
Both Aliu and Agbanoma had interest from the in-state Bulldogs, which tells you everything you need to know about the level of talent Nebraska is pulling. Convincing a player from the football-crazed South to leave SEC country is never easy, especially when Georgia is annually competing for conference championships and national titles.
Yet Wade has managed to carve out a legitimate recruiting footprint in the state.
Relationships matter in recruiting, but resources matter too. Nebraska’s renewed commitment to NIL and recruiting infrastructure is clearly helping the Huskers compete in battles they may not have won a few years ago. Wade’s reputation as a recruiter is now being backed by the kind of institutional support needed to close on elite prospects.
Nebraska is building from the inside out
After an early surge in the 2027 cycle with quarterback Trae Taylor and defensive back Tory Pittman committing, Nebraska’s class had lost a bit of momentum nationally.
That is changing quickly.
With this latest run of commitments, the Huskers now sit around 20th nationally and 10th in the Big Ten rankings. More importantly, the class is beginning to develop a clear identity: physicality in the trenches.
Nebraska now has four offensive line commitments in the class with tackles Jordan Agbanoma and Timi Aliu joined by interior linemen KD Jones and Matt Erickson. The common denominator among all four players is size and developmental upside.
That is exactly what you want to see.
The Big Ten is still won at the line of scrimmage, and Nebraska appears determined to rebuild its roster accordingly. Recruiting rankings are one thing, but stacking multiple large-framed, highly recruited linemen in a single cycle is how programs create long-term stability.
Now it becomes Wade’s job to turn recruiting wins into future all-conference players.
So far, Nebraska fans have every reason to like the direction things are heading.
