“He left Cole Martin in the shadow realm!” NBC broadcaster Noah Eagle exclaimed after Ohio State running back James Peoples flawlessly leaped over UCLA defensive back Cole Martin en route to the finish line, or end zone.
With 1:19 remaining in the second quarter during the Ohio State-UCLA game on Nov. 15, Peoples morphed into a track star and performed a perfect hurdle on a 19-yard rushing touchdown. Ohio State gained a comfortable 24-0 lead before the last minute of the second half; the Buckeyes would score once more with a field goal in the final seconds.
The run gave Peoples his first touchdown of the 2025 season and the Buckeyes’ second rushing touchdown of the half.

Ohio State led 27-0 at halftime against the Bruins.
