On Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered the first home loss of the Kalen DeBoer era, dropping a huge SEC game with the Oklahoma Sooners, 23-21.
A matchup between two highly-ranked teams, Alabama actually outgained the Sooners in total yardage Saturday in Tuscaloosa, 406-212, but were plagued mightily by three very costly turnovers. One of those turnovers was a first quarter pick six thrown by Ty Simpson, followed by a punt return fumble from Ryan Williams, as well as a Simpson fumble on a strip sack.
As a result, Alabama now suffers their first SEC conference loss, and see their College Football Playoff hopes take a hit with a second loss, meaning that the upcoming Iron Bowl at Auburn in two weeks is looking like a must-win.
Following are reactions to the Crimson Tide’s loss against Oklahoma from social media Saturday night.

We all knew Oklahoma was good. Everyone’s expectation for us was 11-1 or 10-2, right? Alabama has all the pieces to win the SEC & make a run in the CFP, just gotta have all the pieces clicking at the same time. If losing to Oklahoma is part of that process, then I’m here for it.

With Oklahoma’s win over Alabama, there’s a real scenario where 7 SEC teams could finish the regular season with 2 or fewer losses.
Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and Texas all remain in play for the CFB Playoff.
