The college football season is getting closer every day, and less than 70 days stand between the first Saturday of the 2026 season and us. As we continue to count down those days, you will start to see more and more prep work come out over the next several weeks as we look to get set for what should be a highly entertaining year once again.

Of course, in a sport that is ruled so strongly by the play of the quarterback, one of the most important things to do is brush up on who will be under center for the top teams and which players have the best chance to take their team to the promised land.

To open up the start of summer, FOX Sports' Joel Klatt unveiled his QB rankings going into the year. Here are the 10 guys who he has at the top:

  1. Dante Moore — Oregon Ducks
  2. Arch Manning — Texas Longhorns
  3. Julian Sayin — Ohio State Buckeyes
  4. Trinidad Chambliss — Ole Miss Rebels
  5. CJ Carr — Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  6. John Mateer — Oklahoma Sooners
  7. Jayden Maiava — USC Trojans
  8. Darian Mensah — Miami Hurricanes
  9. Josh Hoover — Indiana Hoosiers
  10. Sam Leavitt — LSU Tigers

It comes as a bit of a surprise not to see Manning listed as the No. 1 QB, as so many analysts have done this year, particularly in 2027 NFL mock drafts, but putting the Ducks' veteran QB at the top makes total sense. Moore was expected to be the No. 2 QB off the board in the 2026 draft behind Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, but opted to return to school for one more year.

Now, Klatt has him as the best QB in the sport. Will he be able to lead Oregon to the promised land at long last and deliver that elusive national championship to the Ducks? Only time will tell.
