Boston College adds pair of special teamers to 2027 class

A duo of special team players out of Florida decided to stick together and come North.

On Friday, kicker Mateo Sanchez and long snapper Aidan Field announced commitments to Boston College. The duo, both from North Broward Prep in Coconut Creek, Florida, visited campus at different times earlier this month before committing.

Sanchez held offers from the likes of Florida State, Duke, and Army. He attended camps at Notre Dame and Georgia Tech as well.

“Thank you to all the coaches who have been with me along this journey, thank you to my parents who have been by my side through all the highs and lows. GO EAGLES!,” Sanchez wrote.

The two sent out posts on the same morning. Field was a Rubio Top 12 invitee this year. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound snapper has a snap time of .68 seconds.

“Thank you to the Boston College coaching staff for this incredible opportunity. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my coaches, parents, family, teammates, and friends. I wouldn’t be here without your constant support, encouragement, and belief in me,” Field wrote.
