Georgia football transfer makes All-ACC first-team

Georgia Bulldogs transfer pass rusher Damon Wilson is playing for his third school in three years this fall. Wilson enters the 2026 season with high expectations. In fact, he made the USA TODAY Network All-ACC first-team.

Wilson will be playing in the ACC for the first time in his college football career in 2026. The senior pass rusher transferred to the Miami Hurricanes this winter after spending the 2025 season with the Missouri Tigers.

Wilson has the potential to be a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL draft and will look to have an even more productive year in 2026. Last season, Wilson posted 23 total tackles, a pass breakup, an interception, and nine sacks at Missouri. His nine sacks would’ve ranked first for Georgia, who finished the year last in the SEC with 20 sacks. Wilson finished with the third-most sacks of any player in the SEC a year ago.

At Miami, Wilson will look to win an ACC championship and return to the College Football Playoff. Miami experienced heartbreak in the national championship in January and is looking to reload this fall. The Hurricanes are picked to win the ACC this preseason.

Wilson is one of three Miami defenders on the All-ACC first-team along with defensive lineman Ahmad Moten and defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald. Wilson also received votes to be the ACC’s defensive player of the year.
