College Football Is Back – There Are 8 Games Scheduled For This Saturday

After nearly seven months of waiting, college football fans can rejoice because the 2026 season is finally here.

This Saturday’s slate will kick off with an intriguing matchup at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. We’ll get to see Bill Belichick lead North Carolina into battle against TCU. Although this game hasn’t even started, the legendary coach is already facing backlash from his loudest critics.

“I’m not pulling for Bill Belichick. He’s a grouch. He’s a bully, and his career in college is about to go down in flames,” ESPN’s Paul Finebaum said, via On3. “It is mass chaos in Chapel Hill, and I don’t believe they’ll win this game in Ireland, and I don’t think Bill Belichick is going to survive until the end of the season.”

After fans get an early look at North Carolina, they’ll get to see Lincoln Riley and the No. 14 USC Trojans in action. All eyes will be on star quarterback Jayden Maiava this Saturday.

Here’s the full schedule for this Saturday:

  • North Carolina vs. TCU at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN
  • San Jose State vs. USC at 3 p.m. ET on NBC

Next weekend should be epic.

This weekend’s slate of games should serve as an appetizer for next week’s full-course meal.

Not only will we get to watch Oregon and Boise State square off at Autzen Stadium, we’ll get to see Clemson and LSU go head-to-head at Tiger Stadium. That’ll mark the start of the Lane Kiffin era in Baton Rouge.

The Week 1 schedule will also feature showdowns between Wisconsin and Notre Dame, Louisville and Ole Miss, and SMU and Florida State.
