Countdown to kickoff is back! USC will kick off its 2026 football season on August 29 when the Trojans host San Jose State at the Coliseum. In this series, we will be counting down the days until the season opener by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number.
Our countdown has finally reached its conclusion! With zero days to go, today we look at former USC defensive lineman Korey Foreman.
Position: Defensive line
Years played at USC: 2021-2023
Career highlights: In 2021, the Trojans made headlines when they landed Foreman, who was the No. 1 overall recruit in the country. However, he never quite lived up to the hype that surrounded him at USC, recording just 14 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in three years with the Trojans.
Foreman did make one massive play during his time in Cardinal and Gold, however. In 2022, No. 7 USC led No. 16 UCLA 48-45, but the Bruins had the ball and were driving late for a potential game-tying or game-winning score. However, Foreman intercepted a pass from UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, sealing the game. The victory brought the Victory Bell back to USC, clinched a double-digit win season for the Trojans, and sent them to the Pac-12 Championship Game.
After USC: Following the 2023 season, Foreman elected to enter the transfer portal, landing at Fresno State. In two years with the Bulldogs, he recorded 45 tackles, six sacks, three forced fumbles, and five passes defended.
After going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, Foreman attended rookie minicamp with both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
