Atlanta radio personality Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan will not face criminal charges following domestic violence allegations made by his estranged wife, Alicia Brown. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute the case after Morgan was arrested in June.
According to court documents, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has declined to prosecute the case. Morgan, a longtime Atlanta radio personality and former host of BET’s “Rap City,” was arrested in June after Brown accused him of pushing her into a door and causing a serious facial injury. Morgan denied the allegations. His arrest included charges of aggravated battery and third-degree cruelty to children.
The decision not to prosecute means the criminal case stemming from those allegations will not move forward. But the legal conflict between Morgan and Brown is far from over. Brown was arrested July 6 after authorities said they discovered an active felony kidnapping warrant from Maryland connected to a custody-related matter. Deputies later stopped her SUV on Interstate 85. Two children traveling with her were safely recovered, including a child she shares with Morgan.
Brown was not prosecuted and has since filed a federal lawsuit against Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. In the lawsuit, Brown alleges that the warrant was erroneous and that her arrest violated her constitutional rights. She also questions whether Morgan had inappropriate access to members of the sheriff’s office during the couple’s ongoing custody dispute.
Brown is seeking records of communications between Morgan and law enforcement around the time of her arrest. The lawsuit also alleges that Morgan received preferential treatment following his own arrest, including being released within hours. Meanwhile, Morgan’s V-103 co-host Francesca Amiker has filed a separate federal defamation lawsuit against Brown.
