Arizona State was forced to replace quarterback Sam Leavitt this offseason after his departure to LSU. In the opener against Morgan State, it appeared the team might have found that guy, as Cutter Boley had a huge game, going 21-for-27 for 387 yards with six touchdown passes. This week’s meeting with Texas A&M will be a lot tougher, though.
The Aggies had no issue in their opener, defeating Missouri State 50-0. Quarterback Marcel Reed began what could be a Heisman campaign with a strong showing, going 21-for-30 for 233 yards with two touchdown passes. Reed also added 20 yards on the ground. Isaiah Horton and Mario Craver both caught scores in the victory.
