College football rankings: How the Top 25 compare in 2027 recruiting race

USA TODAY has unveiled Week 2 of the US LBM Coaches Poll, which includes a new top team. That "Texas Longhorns" leap created a shakeup in the top 5 as well as the overall rankings, with several teams making a first appearance in the national poll.
And while the latest movement adds to the intrigue of the 2026 season and eventual College Football Playoff championship in January 2027, it's also worth noting that plenty of these teams are winning on the recruiting trail, too — though several don't have any correlation between 2027 recruiting prowess and the current ranking.
