It was another eventful weekend in the college football world. The No. 3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish had their first true road game of the 2026 college football season and dominated Purdue 49-10 inside of Ross-Ade Stadium. The Irish go undefeated in September for the first time under head coach Marcus Freeman and they did it in resounding fashion. 

Notre Dame outgained Purdue 444 yards to 218 yards and 75 of Purdue's total yards came on the final drive of the game. This was a dominant performance from the Fighting Irish offense and defense. For the third time this season, they scored defensively making it 18 total defensive scores since 2022 which leads all of college football. The rushing attack got going, and quarterback CJ Carr continued his impressive 2026 season finishing the afternoon with four total touchdowns. 

The Irish now look ahead to facing the unranked North Carolina Tarheels on the road in Chapel Hill who are coming off a bye week after their tough road loss to Clemson in Week 3. Notre Dame remains one of the national favorites to contend for and win the CFP national title. 

The entire slate of college football in Week 4 did not disappoint, leading to a shake up in the Coaches Poll Top 25. The Missouri Tigers lost to Mississippi State and quarterback Kamario Taylor causing them to fall out of the rankings. The Tennessee Volunteers dropped to No. 17 after losing at home 20-17 to the No. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns. The Ole Miss Rebels got decimated in the Swamp to the Florida Gators 52-28 dropping the Rebels to No. 12 and bringing the Gators up to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll. 

Texas A&M got dominated on the road by LSU causing them to drop out of the Coaches Poll Top 25. USC, once again under Lincoln Riley, wasn't able to defeat Oregon causing them to drop to No. 18. The Ducks jumped to No. 15 and will look to continue turning around their season after a head-scratching loss to Oklahoma State in Week 2. Penn State lost to an unranked Wisconsin team, Louisville lost to an unranked Wake Forest team and Michigan lost in a last second effort by Iowa in the Big House.
