The Notre Dame Fighting Irish remain the No. 3 team in the nation according to both the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll that came out on Sunday afternoon.

It was a fantastic college football weekend full of upsets and good games, and as fun as all of that can be to involved with… the Irish pounded Purdue the way everyone expected them to, and so there’s little room to actually be impressive. Still, the Irish did pick up some new first place votes in the Coaches Poll.

Notre Dame still has three opponents remaining that are currently ranked in both polls:

Miami Hurricane — No. 4 & No. 4
BYU Cougars — No. 10 & No. 9
SMU Mustangs — No. 22 & No. 19

Two of the more significant games that are tied to Notre Dame either directly or indirectly is the Wake Forest win over Louisville, and Wisconsin’s win over Penn State. The fact that Oregon beat USC (again) and Iowa taking down Michigan are just the cherries on top of a great weekend.
