It's been great to be a Florida Gator in 2026. First-year coach Jon Sumrall has brought one of the nation's most electrifying offenses to Gainesville, and he'll take that show to Missouri this week for another clash between ranked teams.

UF is 4-0 (2-0 in SEC) for the first time since 2019 and has already matched its win total from Billy Napier's final season. They picked up their biggest win in years with an exhilarating 52-28 win over then-No. 6 Ole Miss behind 268 combined rushing yards and four touchdowns from Jadan Baugh and Duke Clark. Quarterback Aaron Philo ran one in too, tacking on a TD pass to give him seven on the year.

Mizzou (3-1, 0-1) catches Florida's fifth-ranked offense a week after falling 31-24 to the fourth-ranked offense in Mississippi State. Austin Simmons kept up as best he could with Kamario Taylor, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns, with Cayden Lee bringing in 11 catches for 156 yards and two of those scores. Jamal Roberts, starting at running back for the injured Ahmad Hardy, is third in the SEC with 395 rushing yards.

Florida vs Missouri football prediction

The Gators passed their first road test of the season two weeks ago at Auburn, a game they led by multiple scores for much of the second half. The two Tigers are tied for seventh in the SEC in allowing 20.8 points per game, but Mizzou is much better defending the run, surrendering just 100.3 yards per game, a hair ahead of Florida for sixth in the conference. They held Kansas, owners of the No. 49 run game in the nation, to just 80 yards on 36 carries, so don't be surprised if Jadan Baugh falls under his lofty averages.

The question then becomes whether Aaron Philo can pace the offense, and nothing we've seen so far indicates he can't do it. Both offenses are likely to try to air it out against the other's weaker pass defenses (Missouri is 10th in the SEC in that category, Florida 15th). Eli Drinkwitz's side hasn't beaten a top-10 team in nine tries, though, with two of those coming in Columbia. UF should have enough offense to survive.
