Senior Jordan Faison had a game that a Notre Dame wide receiver hasn’t seen in nearly a decade.

In the Fighting Irish’s 37-26 win over North Carolina on Saturday, Faison had eight catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s the first time since 2016 that a Notre Dame receiver had 130-plus yards and two-plus scores in a game. Dubbed “Air Faison” after the win, one of the senior’s TDs included a 39-yard throw by quarterback CJ Carr that Faison dove for and caught in the end zone.

Former Notre Dame standout receiver Equanimeous St. Brown accomplished the feat when he had four receptions for 182 yards and two TDs in a 50-33 win over Syracuse on Oct. 1, 2016.

Faison has 25 receptions for 371 yards and four scores for the Irish so far this season. He is 311 receiving yards away from 2,000 in his career, which would be good for 10th all-time in program history.
