Injury list grows for Florida football ahead of Week 11 at Kentucky

Twelve Florida Gators, including wide receiver Eugene Wilson III, will miss Saturday’s game at Kentucky, per the initial SEC Availability Report.

Wilson is the latest major addition to a list of injuries that keeps getting longer by the week. The good news is that Vernell Brown III and Aidan Mizell were upgraded from out last week to questionable. Should both play, it would help offset the losses of both Wilsons, Eugene and Dallas, the latter being out for the season after his injury against Georgia.

Running back Duke Clark was also upgraded to questionable this week. Florida has kept starter Jadan Baugh healthy all season, but his primary backups — Treyaun Webb and Ja'Kobi Jackson — have been out for most of the year. Webb will miss the whole season. Getting Clark back would take some stress off Baugh and redshirt freshman KD Daniels, who has been used sparingly as a backup.

The SEC Availability Reporting Policy

"In accordance with the Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Policy, teams must submit initial reports on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET for a Saturday game (or, for any non-Saturday game, three nights before the game by 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET) … and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET)."

Each player must receive one of four designations:

  • Out (i.e., will not play/0% chance to play);
  • Doubtful (i.e., unlikely to play/25% chance to play);
  • Questionable (i.e., uncertain to play/50% chance to play); or
  • Probable (i.e., probable to play/75% chance to play)

If a player is listed on any previous availability report for the upcoming game, teams must change the designation to available. The questionable designation is not allowed in the Game Day Update.
