It wasn’t too surprising when Notre Dame football’s backup quarterback Kenny Minchey announced he’d enter the transfer portal, he lost the staring job to redshirt freshman CJ Carr and it went extremely well during his first season as a starter.

During some playing time this fall, he showed he’s more than capable of playing at this level, competing 76.9% of his passes for 196-yards. Minchey also rushed for 84-yards and a score, showing his dual-threat ability. With the transfer portal officially opening up on Friday, rumors have begun to swirl on where he will land.

Three insiders at 247Sports have crystal balled Minchey to Nebraska, as they lost their starting quarterback to the portal in Dylan Raiola. It’s an interesting landing potential landing spot for him, as they have rising sophomore in TJ Lateef, who started the last four games of this past season.

It is limited playing time, so if Minchey does end up with the Cornhuskers, he’ll once again be in a battle for a starting spot. Hopefully it would turn out better for him this time, and he becomes Nebraska’s starter.
