One day after reports surfaced that he would enter the NCAA transfer portal, Rico Scott is back in the fold in Alabama football’s wide receiver room.
According to multiple reports, Scott is expected to return to the Crimson Tide in 2026. Alabama lost three wide receivers to the transfer portal: Aeryn “Bubba” Hampton, Cole Adams and Jaylen Mbakwe, who reportedly committed to Georgia Tech.
Alabama is expected to have Ryan Williams, Derek Meadows and Lotzeir Brooks back in 2026 along with Scott. Isaiah Horton has one season of eligibility remaining. Alabama is also adding high four-star freshman Cederian Morgan to the receiver room.
“I just kind of think of it as I just got to go out there and do my job,” Scott said ahead of Alabama’s 2025 season. “Can’t really worry about other people’s expectations of you. Just got to play your game.”
Scott, from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has 16 catches for 158 yards and three touchdowns across two seasons for the Crimson Tide.
His final catch of the 2025 season came on an 11-yard reception against Eastern Illinois. He played 16 combined snaps in Alabama‘s final four games against Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma and Indiana.
Scott was a four-star receiver out of Bishop McDevitt High School.
