Rochester grad commits to Iowa football, plus other football transfers

Rochester graduate Lance Ingold is transferring to the Big Ten Conference.
The defensive end committed to University of Iowa on Thursday, Jan. 8 after two seasons in the Mid-American Conference at Northern Illinois University. He recorded 17 tackles with 1 ½ sacks and a forced fumble this past season as a redshirt freshman.
Against Mississippi State, he had a personal best seven tackles. He appeared in two games in 2024.
Ingold, 6-6 and 255 pounds, helped the Rockets win the Class 4A state title in 2023 and was named to The State Journal-Register’s all-area football team as a senior defensive end and tight end.
Iowa finished 9-4 this past season after winning the Reliaquest Bowl against Vanderbilt.

- North Mac graduate Cooper Starks committed to FCS South Dakota State on Tuesday, Jan. 6 after three seasons at Vanderbilt. He appeared in nine games as a junior reserve offensive lineman. He is listed at 6-5, 329 pounds.
South Dakota State went 9-5 and reached the second round of the FCS playoffs. The Jackrabbits won back-to-back national titles in 2022 and 2023.

- Calvary Academy graduate and JUCO transfer Noah Wilson signed with University of West Georgia on Thursday. The 6-4, 320-pound offensive lineman played at Coffeyville Community College and later Dodge City Community College, both in Kansas, despite never playing football in high school.
West Georgia became an FCS Division I program in 2024.
