Alabama football has added another young coach to Kalen DeBoer’s staff, bringing in Noah Fisher as the program’s new assistant tight ends coach, according to reports from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Alabama has hired Louisville’s Noah Fisher as an assistant tight ends coach, a source tells @CBSSports.

While Fisher may not be a household name to Crimson Tide fans just yet, his background suggests he could play an important role in the continued development of one of Alabama’s most versatile position groups.
Fisher arrives in Tuscaloosa after spending the last two seasons at Louisville as a graduate assistant, where he worked closely with both the offensive line and tight ends. That experience could prove valuable for an Alabama offense that appears determined to make its tight ends a bigger part of the attack moving forward.
The modern tight end is expected to do far more than simply catch passes. Players at the position must be capable blockers in the run game, reliable pass protectors, and athletic enough to create mismatches in the passing game. Fisher’s background as a former offensive lineman gives him a unique perspective that should help Alabama continue developing complete tight ends capable of contributing in every phase of the offense.
Before beginning his coaching career, Fisher spent most of his college playing days at South Alabama. He lettered for three seasons with the Jaguars and earned multiple starts along the offensive line before transferring to Tulane for his final season in 2018. His experience in the trenches gives him firsthand knowledge of the physical demands required to succeed at the line of scrimmage.
Fisher’s coaching journey has moved quickly since his playing career ended. Prior to Louisville, he spent time on staff at Georgia Southern, where he began building his reputation as a young coach with strong recruiting and player development skills.
During his time with the Cardinals, Fisher assisted with recruiting efforts while also helping coordinate position meetings and playbook preparation. Those responsibilities gave him valuable experience behind the scenes and helped prepare him for a larger role at one of college football’s premier programs.
The move also reunites Fisher with Alabama tight ends coach Richard Owens. The two previously worked together at Louisville, making the transition to Tuscaloosa a natural fit. Familiarity within a coaching staff can be invaluable, and Owens clearly knows what Fisher brings to the table.
The addition comes during an offseason that has seen several changes on Alabama’s offensive staff. Owens took over the tight ends room after Bryan Ellis was promoted to quarterbacks coach. That move followed Nick Sheridan’s departure to become offensive coordinator at Michigan State.
Despite the staff adjustments, DeBoer continues to build a coaching group filled with experienced teachers and rising stars. Fisher may be one of the younger members of the staff, but his experience working with both offensive linemen and tight ends makes him an intriguing addition.
As Alabama continues to evolve offensively under DeBoer, adding coaches with diverse backgrounds and strong developmental skills remains a priority. Fisher checks both boxes, and the Crimson Tide are hoping his arrival helps take the tight end position to another level in the years ahead.
