Alabama football four-star commit flips to Tennessee

Tennessee flipped a legacy prospect for its 2027 football signing class.

Four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II flipped his commitment from Alabama to Tennessee on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect is an in-state target from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. 247Sports ranks Simon II as the No. 9 linebacker in the class and No. 6 player in Tennessee.

His father, Kevin Simon, played linebacker for the Vols from 2001-05.

Tennessee offered Simon II a scholarship on May 12. He has unofficially visited the Vols eight times. Alabama offered Simon II a scholarship on Sept. 3, 2025. He committed to the Crimson Tide on May 11.

Purdue was the first school to offer Simon II a scholarship. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, NebraskaAuburn, SMU, Virginia Tech, Liberty, Tulane, Memphis, Southern Miss, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, North CarolinaNotre DameTexas A&M and Florida State.

The Vols have 14 commitments for their 2027 recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison, defensive back Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, long snapper Sam McKeown, kicker Ford Fehling and Simon II.
