Brentwood Academy Kenneth Simon II has flipped his commitment from Alabama to Tennessee football and Josh Heupel, according to 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker is the No. 6-ranked prospect in Tennessee for the 2027 class and the No. 10-ranked linebacker nationally. He also held offers from Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt among others.

Simon committed to Alabama on May 11 but gave serious consideration to Tennessee. Simon's top four schools were the Crimson Tide, the Vols, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

He finished with eight TFLs, 4.5 sacks, one interception, one blocked kick and one pass breakup in 2025 during Brentwood Academy’s TSSAA football runner-up finish in Division II-AAA. He also had 129 yards in kick returns and rushed for 64 yards and a TD.

Simon's father, Kevin, was a two-time All-SEC linebacker at Tennessee and seventh-round NFL draft pick by Washington in 2006. Kevin Simon was once the director of player development at Tennessee, working as a liaison with NFL scouts.

The Vols have already secured the commitment of Brentwood Academy's four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman. He made his decision on March 28. He chose UT over Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Alabama and Miami.

Kenneth Simon helped Brentwood Academy go undefeated during the regular season before losing to Baylor, 28-24, in the TSSAA Division II-AAA state championship game in Chattanooga last December.
