Alabama vs Florida State weather update: Lightning delays pregame

Alabama and Florida State's Week 3 matchup on Saturday, Sept. 19, is currently in a weather delay.
Players were on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium for warmups before lightning struck near the area, causing warmups to be halted. It's unclear if the delay will alter the planned kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. ET.
The Crimson Tide were upset by Florida State 31-17 last season in Tallahassee, Florida, in the first of the two schools' home-and-home series. Alabama is looking to get revenge on a program that has mightily struggled the last few seasons under Mike Norvell, who was considered for the Crimson Tide's coaching vacancy before hiring Kalen DeBoer.

Alabama vs Florida State weather update
Pregame warmups were suspended around 45 minutes before Alabama and Florida State are scheduled to kickoff due to lightning being detected in the area.
“Lightning has been detected in the campus area. Please proceed immediately to the nearest designated shelters,” the University of Alabama public safety department said in a statement at 2:44 p.m. ET.

No formal update has been provided from either Alabama or Florida State on if the lightning will delay the kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. ET.
