We’re just months away from the start of the 2026 College Football season, and fans in the Pacific Northwest will have their eyes on how the Oregon Ducks rebound from their heartbreaking 56–22 loss to the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinals in January.

However, in the eyes of college football insider J.D. PicKell, quarterback Dante Mooreis one of the 10 best post-Spring players at his position thanks to what he was able to accomplish last season for Oregon, not the least of which was his 3,565 yards thrown as part of a 13-2 record.

“After spurning the NFL Draft, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is tabbed as the No. 1-ranked post-Spring quarterback by PicKell,” wrote author Daniel Hager via On3.com. “In his first season as Oregon‘s starting quarterback, Moore passed for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. He led the Ducks to a 13-2 record and an appearance in the Semifinals of the College Football Playoff.”

In fact, Hager believes that Moore will firmly plant himself in the Heisman Trophy conversation by the time the upcoming college football season is over.

“Moore will be one of the preseason Heisman Trophy favorites in 2026,” Hager continued. “With superstar tight end Jamari Johnson and wide receiver Evan Stewart (who missed the entire 2025 season) returning to Oregon‘s offense next season, Moore certainly could find himself at the Heisman ceremony at the conclusion of the season. The Ducks are seeking their first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship under head coach Dan Lanning.”

Moore and the rest of his Ducks teammates are scheduled to open the 2026 season on September 5 against the Boise State Broncos.
