Gosh almighty.

The Ole Miss Rebels (3-0, 1-0 SEC) are now the number four ranked team in the county after the Associated Press released its weekly top 25 poll. A 32-24 win over top 10 LSU this week propelled the Rebels from number eight to now a top five ranking.

Ole Miss now has a meat grinder of an SEC schedule ahead starting with No. 21 ranked Florida in Gainesville at the Swamp. The Rebels do already own two top 25 wins with the aforementioned LSU game and the season opener over No. 16 Louisville.

The SEC is well represented in this week’s poll with five of the top 10 teams hailing from the conference. There’s now 10 teams from the SEC in the top 25 with Florida and Mississippi State joining the poll this week with undefeated starts.

For the remainder of the season, Ole Miss still has to play No. 2 Georgia, No. 19 Missouri, No. 21 Florida and No. 24 Miss. St. There’s a lot of football left to be played, but for the first quarter of the season, Ole Miss is in a prime position to repeat as a playoff team.
