BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football remained at No. 4 in the US LMB Coaches Poll after beating Western Kentucky 38-0 on Saturday, but moved down one spot in the AP Poll to No. 5.
The Hoosiers (3-0) improved to 9-0 in non-conference games under coach Curt Cignetti. They have won those games by an averaged of 44.2 points per game during his tenure. This season they outscored their first three opponents 145-16.
In the coaches poll, Indiana remained the top-ranked team in the Big Ten and received nine first place votes. The top five in the poll all remained unchanged from last week, but there were two teams (LSU and Texas A&M) in the top 10 that lost.
Ole Miss passed Indiana in the Associated Press poll after its win over Louisiana State, which was in the top 10 entering the game.
