The Georgia Bulldogs earned a commitment through a familiar connection. Running back Nick Peal, the half-brother of former Georgia cornerback Chris Peal (now with the Syracuse Orange), has committed to the Bulldogs, according to Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports.
Peal is a class of 2026 recruit who stands at 6 feet and weighs 210 pounds. He went to Roswell High School for his senior season, where he racked up 1,395 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also clocked a 4.48 in the 40, has a 41-inch vertical leap, and bench presses 405 pounds. He can squat over 600 pounds and power clean 385 as well. Peal has the size and the speed to play at the next level, but he was unranked as a recruit.
Still, when the wave of commitments and signings hit from his class, Peal didn’t receive much interest; just offers from Delta State and Gardner-Webb University. However, the Bulldogs quietly hung around, and now, he committed to them with a full scholarship.
“If you had told me all of this was going to happen after my last game at Roswell, I would’ve told you that you were crazy,” Nick Peal said to DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell. “But another part of me would be like, of course, because I always kept that confidence in myself close to my heart. From day one, since I started playing the sport. I know what type of kid I am and know that if I believe in God, anything can happen. So I kept praying.”
The Bulldogs signed Peal’s half-brother, Chris, in the class of 2023. He transferred to the Syracuse Orange to play under former Georgia defensive backs coach Fran Brown. Nick Peal, however, will live out a seemingly impossible dream of being a Georgia Bulldog.
Peal along with four-star defensive back Chace Calicut are Georgia’s two remaining unsigned recruits in the class of 2026. Calicut appears to be unlikely to sign with Georgia. He’s visited other programs this spring.
