The race for the pledge of a four-star defensive lineman from Charlotte is down to two teams, including the Auburn Tigers.

According to Rivals recruiting insider Chad Simmons, Auburn is in a two-team race with SEC rival South Carolina for four-star defensive lineman Nate Kamba. Kamba is close to making a decision, and the next two weeks will be telling as to where he will end up.

According to Simmons, Kamba will visit both Auburn and South Carolina over the next two weeks, with South Carolina getting the first visit this weekend and Auburn hosting him for an official visit during the weekend of June 12.

Simmons cites that Kamba has visited South Carolina more than Auburn, but Auburn left quite an impression on Kamba during his spring visit to the Plains. Kamba tells Simmons that the beauty of Auburn's campus and the people surrounding the program impressed him.

He will work on developing relationships with coaches from both Auburn and South Carolina over the next two weeks and will decide which program fits his needs the best

Kamba is the No. 26 defensive lineman from the 2027 cycle, and the No. 10 player from North Carolina. According to the latest forecast from Rivals' Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn holds the slight lead over the Gamecocks in Kamba's recruitment at 26%, compared to South Carolina's 18% chance.

The addition of Kamba to Auburn's 2027 haul would be special as the Tigers could pair Kamba with Donivan Moore, its only defensive line player pledged to its No. 13-ranked class.
