An Ohio State Buckeyes commit said this week that the Texas Longhorns are going to lose one of their top football commits when National Signing Day comes around later this year.

An Ohio State Buckeyes commit said this week that the Texas Longhorns are going to lose one of their top commits on National Signing Day later this year.

2027 four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds, an Ohio State commit since late 2024, was asked by 247Sports this week “to name one elite recruit [he’s] aggressively trying to land or flip” before National Signing Day.

Edmunds told 247Sports, in no uncertain terms, that four-star tight end Brock Williams is going to flip from Texas to Ohio State on National Signing Day.

“Brock Williams is going to flip from Texas to Ohio State on Signing Day,” said Edmunds.

Williams, 6-foot-4/215 pounds from Libertyville, IL, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 4 tight end in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Illinois. He’s also rated as the No. 79 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

The four-star tight end committed to Texas last month.

“I think they’re building something huge,” said Williams last month after committing to Texas. “I think they’re definitely building a Natty team. Obviously we got a loaded room at quarterback which is huge for me cause the quarterback is throwing me the ball, so that was huge.”

Williams sounds locked in with the Longhorns, but Edmunds sounds confident that the four-star tight end will land with the Buckeyes.

We’ll see in December if Edmunds was just trying to speak it into existence or if he really had some inside information.
