Auburn enters the 2026 college football season with one of the best quarterbacks in college football. Byrum Brown proved how good of a player he is during his four years at USF with head coach Alex Golesh. He is looking to transfer that level of play to Auburn this upcoming season. The Sporting News recently released its top 25 quarterbacks, and Brown is on the list. He is one of eight quarterbacks from the SEC featured on the list.

In the list, Bill Bender ranked Brown at No. 17, touting his numbers from 2025 with the Bulls. Last season, Brown threw for 3,158 yards and rushed for 1,008 yards. Brown also totaled 52 total touchdowns and led the FBS in total offense for the season. Brown will meet a new challenge this season playing in the SEC, though. If he can come close to that production this season, the Tigers should have a successful season.

What will help Brown achieve success this season at Auburn will be the talent that surrounds him on offense. He will have some of his top targets from South Florida joining him on the Plains. Receivers Keshaun Singleton, Chas Nimrod, Christian Neptune, and Jeremiah Koger all transferred to Auburn. Also, add in the fact that the Tigers should have one of the best backfields featuring Jeremiah Cobb, Bryson Washington, and Nykahi Davenport.
