Badgers get primetime game in Big Ten opener on the road

The Wisconsin Badgers are just two weeks away from their Big Ten opener, where they’ll face the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road in Happy Valley in a huge litmus test for Luke Fickell’s squad.

First, they’ll have to face off against Eastern Michigan, which is set to take place at 11:30 a.m. this weekend at Camp Randall Stadium on Peacock. Wisconsin, which stands 1-1 after its win over Western Illinois last weekend, is a 24.5-point favorite against Eastern Michigan.

Following that, it’s nine straight conference games that will determine whether the Badgers will make a bowl game or not, with one of the tougher challenges coming up in Week 4 against the No. 14 Nittany Lions.

Wisconsin, which has seen two straight night games to start the year, will get a third in Week 4.

The Big Ten revealed the Week 4 television schedule, and the Badgers will draw a 5:00 p.m. local time kick on Peacock.

There are a couple of interesting conference games that week. UCLA takes on Maryland, which drew a 1:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Big Ten Network. Iowa takes on Michigan on CBS at 3:30 p.m. ET. And Oregon vs. USC comes in the night slate on NBC after Wisconsin’s game.

The Badgers have drawn Peacock or NBC in three of their first four games as well. They were on NBC in Week 1 against Notre Dame, and will be on Peacock this weekend against Eastern Michigan.

While Wisconsin will certainly come into that game as an under, it will be the first big test for Luke Fickell’s team to see how well they fare against another top-15 opponent.
