The Wisconsin Badgers got a major addition to their 2027 recruiting class on Thursday when four-star forward Baboucarr Ann committed to the program.

The No. 1 recruit in the state of Minnesota, Ann had been a top target for the Badgers since being offered late last year, and Wisconsin had been trending as the leader in his recruitment for quite some time. His commitment gives the Badgers a top-65 player in the 2027 class and leaves them with three commits heading into the Fall.

Ann joins four-star guard Jalen Brown and three-star center Jack Thelen as the commits in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. He’s a talented 6’5, 180-pound wing who has good length and versatility that should fit in well for the Badgers in the future.

With Ann’s commitment, the Badgers are at a recruiting peak under head coach Greg Gard. In fact, they’ve got the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, according to the 247Sports rankings.

The only team ahead of them? The Iowa State Cyclones, who have landed commitments from four-star forward Josiah Harrington, four-star forward Donovan Davis, and four-star wing Jack Kohnen.

Davis and Kohnen both hail from Wisconsin, representing one of the strongest in-state classes in recent history.

Of course, it’s still extremely early in the cycle with a lot of top recruits yet to commit to a school. But Ann’s commitment is a great sign for head coach Greg Gard and his staff, who have done a fantastic job landing recruits in the 2027 class.

We’ll see if Wisconsin still adds in the 2027 class, but they’ve got quite the stronghold now with Ann, Brown, and Thelen in the fold.
