Michigan football has been seemingly collecting safeties in the 2027 class, though it's tended to gain some and then lose some.
At the moment, the Wolverines have two safeties pledged in four-star Tavares Harrington and three-star Charles Woodson Jr., but they may be on the verge of landing a third. Previously, the maize and blue had two other safeties in the fold, in Darrell Mattison and Maxwell Miles, but both ended up decommitting before ending up at other schools.
However, there's a strong chance that another top-flight defensive back is on his way in short order.
The Wolverines hosted Malvern (Pa.) Haverford School four-star safety Marcus Jones for an official visit over the weekend and appears to be in good standing with the 6-foot-3, 190-pound defensive back. They're battling Tennessee for his services, but it won't be long before he reveals his school of choice. According to his Instagram, he plans to make his decision on Friday.

Jones is rated highest by Rivals, which has him as the No. 191 player in the country, regardless of position. He did receive a prediction from Steve Wiltfong indicating that the Vols would be the choice, however that came before he visited Ann Arbor this past weekend.
He also has offers from Ole Miss, Ohio State, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and others.
