The Wisconsin Badgers got some news on Monday evening with their 2027 recruiting class, as three-star edge rusher Darin Graham decommitted from the program, he announced.

“I would like to thank the University of Wisconsin and the football staff for the opportunity,” Graham wrote in a tweet. “At this time, I have decided to de commit from Wisconsin. My recruitment is now reopen.”

Graham, a 6’5, 218-pound edge rusher from Mount Carmel High School in Illinois, had been committed to Wisconsin since June after his official visit. Graham visited Wisconsin during the first weekend of visits. He also had a visit with Ole Miss and had one with Georgia Tech scheduled, but committed to the Badgers after visiting the Rebels.

He had been an edge target for a while for Wisconsin, with the Badgers offering him back in January. Wisconsin was Graham’s fourth offer, joining Kansas State, Kentucky, and Minnesota. Graham later picked up offers from Purdue, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech ahead of official visits.

Wisconsin had picked up a number of commits at edge rusher this summer. They initially landed in-state three-star Isaac Miller, who committed back in March. Then, they landed Graham after the second weekend of official visits, and were able to flip three-star edge rusher Brody Pfannenstiel from Texas Tech after his visit to Wisconsin in mid-June.

Now, the Badgers have just Miller and Graham, as they look ahead to National Signing Day in December, with the potential to add a late signee in the class this Fall.

Per 247Sports’s Nick Osen, the decision was a “mutual decision that was generally on Wisconsin’s side and their decision, that was handled with multiple phone conversations last week.”

“Graham is a terrific kid that the Badgers like and really enjoyed getting to know as a young man, but the tape and development just weren’t quite where the staff had hoped it would be at this point,” Osen added. “Graham will look for new options for his future now, while I would consider the Badgers in the evaluation phase at this time for other edges.”

With Graham out of the fold, the Badgers are now sitting at 22 commits in the 2027 class, which is still considered a top-25 group in the nation.
