Baylor Football 2026 Schedule: Full Breakdown and Season Outlook

Baylor lost the last three games of last season and five of the last six in a wildly disappointing 5-7 season, and this year’s schedule won’t make it easy to do a whole lot better.
The second half of the season has a slew of road games, but there’s a silver lining to all of this if the Bears can be consistently solid.
The Good, the Bad, and Who Baylor Misses in 2026
The Good
After the opening game in Atlanta against Auburn – technically a neutral site game, but not really – the Bears get just one road game until late October. If they can own Waco, they should be in a good position to be in the hunt for a bowl, but …
The Bad
Not only does Baylor have to deal with Auburn to start the season, but five of the last eight games are away from home. Not only that, the finishing kick of at BYU, Texas Tech, and at Houston is a bear.
What Big 12 Teams Baylor Will Miss
Arizona, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Utah, West Virginia.
There aren’t enough good teams missing from the schedule. Not playing Utah is great, but considering having to play Arizona State and BYU on the road, and Texas Tech late in the season, the Bears have work to do.
The Bears won’t complain about missing Utah and Arizona, but it would’ve been nice to miss some of the bigger teams – primarily, Texas Tech and BYU.
Baylor’s Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026
Best Case: Baylor gets by Arizona State
It won’t be easy, but if the Bears can pull off an upset over the Sun Devils, there’s a chance as at massive start with Big 12 home games against Colorado and TCU, and winnable road games against Kansas and UCF before diving into November.
Worst Case: The Bears lose to Colorado
To at least get bowl eligible, the date with the Buffaloes is a 50/50 game that has to go BU’s way. If it loses the Big 12 opener at home, there’s a chance things get ugly fast with that ASU game to follow.

Games That Will Decide Baylor’s Season
1. At Arizona State, Oct. 3. After starting the season against Auburn in Atlanta, there’s one road game before late October, and this is it. It won’t be easy, but it could be a huge season if the Bears can get by the Sun Devils.
2. Iowa State, Nov. 7. Win this, or else. With at BYU, Texas Tech, and at Houston to close, this will be the last game the Bears might be favored in.
3. Auburn (in Atlanta), Sept. 5. All eyes will be on Auburn, especially in Atlanta, but can the Bears steal this? If they do, 4-0 is likely before going to Arizona State.
