‘Best Team in College Football’ — Ex-Nebraska LB Will Compton Hails Georgia After 41–13 Statement Win Over Oklahoma

The Georgia Bulldogs made another strong statement Saturday, beating the Oklahoma Sooners 41-13 at Sanford Stadium.
Georgia controlled the game from start to finish, with its defense forcing four turnovers that helped the offense build a 28-0 halftime lead. Oklahoma’s offense moved the ball at times, but the Bulldogs repeatedly came up with big plays to slam the door on the Sooners’ drives.
The performance was enough to earn major praise from former Nebraska linebacker Will Compton.
Will Compton Makes Bold Georgia Claim
The “Bussin’ With The Boys” co-host did not hold back when sharing his thoughts on Georgia’s performance on social media.
“The Georgia Bulldogs are the best team in College Football,” he tweeted.
The SEC clash was expected to be a test for Georgia’s offense against an Oklahoma scoring defense that had given up just 7.7 points per game entering the contest. However, Georgia quickly took control and left the Sooners struggling to find answers.
Georgia also recorded its first first-half shutout against an SEC opponent since the 2025 SEC Championship in Saturday’s outing.
“The score doesn’t matter. You ever seen the scoreboard in a boxing match? They don’t have a scoreboard,” Georgia HC Kirby Smart later said.
Linebacker Raylen Wilson led the defense with 11 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Sophomore linebacker Chris Cole also made a major impact, returning a fumble 85 yards for a touchdown and recovering another fumble that helped set up another Georgia score.

KJ Bolden added an interception in the second quarter, while Georgia finished with 17 points off Oklahoma’s four turnovers.
Gunner Stockton Leads Georgia’s Offense
Georgia found plenty of success offensively despite starting the game without top running back Nate Frazier, who was out with a rib injury.
Quarterback Gunner Stockton completed his first nine passes and connected with sophomore receiver Talyn Taylor for a 35-yard touchdown. Stockton finished with 171 passing yards and helped Georgia build its massive halftime lead.
Chauncey Bowens stepped up in the running game, scoring two short-yardage touchdowns.

Georgia added another big play early in the fourth quarter when Dwight Phillips Jr. broke free for a 54-yard touchdown run, putting the finishing touches on the blowout.
Georgia Opens Season 4-0
The win moved Georgia to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in SEC play. The Bulldogs have now scored 219 points through their first four games, their highest scoring total to open a season since 1910.
With a defense that continues to create short fields and an offense that keeps capitalizing on those opportunities, Georgia is making a strong early-season statement.
For Compton and plenty of fans, Georgia’s performance was enough to make one thing clear: the Bulldogs are the best team in college football right now.
