BetMGM's CFB Win-Total Market Sees Support for Oklahoma, Split on UCLA

Oklahoma has the most-bet college football win total at BetMGM heading into this season, while UCLA is drawing notable action on both sides.

The online sportsbook released betting insights Tuesday showing the 10th-ranked Sooners taking the most tickets and money to go over 8.5 wins in 2026. Oklahoma has seen 96% of the tickets and 95% of the handle come in on the over.  

UCLA is taking the third-most tickets for any win-total market, behind just Oklahoma and Colorado. More money has come in on the Bruins to go under 6.5 wins than on any other team, but UCLA is also getting the fourth-most over handle. More than 60% of the tickets are on the over, while 30% of the money is on the under. 

Other heavily bet teams include No. 18 Penn State (9.5) and No. 16 Michigan (8.5), two teams with new head coaches. Matt Campbell and the Nittany Lions are receiving the fifth-most under tickets, while the Wolverines and Kyle Whittingham are fifth in the over handle.  

The college football season begins Saturday with Week Zero.  

Reading the market

Colorado's over is second in both tickets and handle despite the Buffaloes surpassing their current 4.5-win total only once in Deion Sanders' first three seasons as head coach.

Nebraska (5.5) has the third-most over tickets, while Michigan State (4.5) ranks fifth. No. 13 Alabama, which traditionally draws strong betting support, has the third-most over handle at 8.5 wins.

Iowa State (4.5) leads the under category in tickets and is fourth in handle as bettors see the Cyclones taking a big step back without Campbell and many of his players from last year’s 8-4 team. In-state rival No. 22 Iowa is second in tickets with a 7.5 total, while Bill Belichick’s North Carolina is third despite having a low total of just 4.5. 

Bettors are also skeptical of defending champion Indiana, which has the second-most under handle at BetMGM with a 10.5-win total. California (6.5) and No. 8 Texas A&M (8.5) are also taking significant action on the under.

Movers and shakers

Fourteen college football teams have seen their win totals increase by at least one victory since BetMGM's market opened, including Oklahoma, North Carolina, No. 3 Georgia (10.5), No. 9 Ole Miss (8.5), Oklahoma State (5.5), and Maryland (5.5).

No. 17 Washington, meanwhile, saw its win total drop by two victories to 7.5. Seven other schools have experienced a one-win dip, including No. 12 Texas Tech, which lost quarterback Brendan Sorsby during the offseason after he lost eligibility for violating the NCAA’s gambling policy. 

Other fallers include Texas A&M, Vanderbilt (5.5), Wake Forest (5.5), and Florida State (4.5).
