Brighton coach Brian Lemons will be inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame this year.
Lemons has been the head coach at Brighton for 11 seasons, leading the Bulldogs to the 2019 state Division 1 championship game.
It’s the only time a Livingston County team has played for a state title. Brighton lost 35-25 to Davison at Ford Field after pulling off a thrilling 22-19 upset of Belleville in the semifinals.
The Bulldogs have a 74-38 record under Lemons, making the playoffs nine times.

Before coming to Brighton, Lemons was the head coach at Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard for seven seasons where he made the playoffs each year. He had a 58-19 record at Gabriel Richard, taking the team to the Division 5 semifinals in 2012.
To be eligible for induction, a coach must have 100 victories as a head coach and/or at least 20 years coaching football in Michigan.
Since the first class in 1982, more than 600 coaches have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. A Wall of Fame recognizing the inductees is inside the southeast tower at Michigan Stadium.
