Brody Pfannenstiel flips to UW. What to know about the former Big 12 recruit

MADISON – Brody Pfannenstiel committed to Texas Tech in March, but Wisconsin never stopped its pursuit of the edge rusher from Kansas.

Tuesday June 16, that work paid off.

Pfannenstiel, who attends Hoisington, High School in Kansas, flipped his commitment from the Red Raiders to the Badgers. He is UW's 23rd commitment for the Class of 2027.

UW has flipped three recruits in the last three weeks. Pewaukee offensive lineman Jack Tabbert decommitted from North Dakota State to join the Badgers' class June 8 and four-star cornerback Mekhi Williams, who is from Ruskin, Florida, flipped from Florida State to the Badgers June. 3.

Similar to Williams, Pfannestiel’s decision to commit to Wisconsin came after an official visit. He was on campus June 5-7 and then took an official to Texas Tech last weekend.

He shared the news of his commitment with Rivals.

Pfannenstiel joins Isaac Miller (6-5, 250) of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha and Darin Graham (6-5, 225) of Mount Carmel High School in Chicago as Badger recruit at the position. This is a position where UW values having players with different body types and skill sets in order to match up with in a variety of offenses and packages it could face. In other words, each of those players could find themselves filling a different role.
